Helsinki Book Fair 24.10.–27.10.2013

FILI and Finnland. Cool. attend the Helsinki Book Fair. This years guest of honour is Germany. FILI and a delegation from the Frankfurt Book Fair will be located at the stand of the Goethe-Institute.

There are a lot of events which related to FILI and the Frankfurt Guest of Honour-project:

thu 24.10. 2:30 pm ”Suomi Frankfurtin kirjamessujen teemamaana 2014”
Juergen Boos and Tobias Voss from the Frankfurt Book Fair and Iris Schwanck from FILI discuss why the literature of a small country will be presented at the world’s largest book fair. Host of the conversation is Mikko Fritze from the Goethe-Institute. Language: English.

thu 24.10. klo 5 pm and fri 25.10. 5 pm “How to do Frankfurt book fair?” Anne-Kathrin Häfner from the Frankfurt Book Fair will make a short presentation of the Frankfurt Book Fair and answers questions. Language: English.

fri 25.10. 12:30 pm Literary agent Elina Ahlbäck and non-fiction writers Jaakko Härmeen-Anttila and Ari Turunen will tell about the export success of non-fiction literature. Anne Rutanen from the Finnish Non-fiction Writers Organisation will host the conversation.

fri 25.10. 4 pm Author meets translator. This year author Tuomas Kyrö and his translater Stefan Moster will participate in the traditional conversation.

fri 25.10.  3:30 pm Finnland. Cool. – Finland at the Frankfurt Book Fair (journalist and author Roman Schatz and FILI’s director Iris Schwanck talk)

sat 26.10. 12:30 pm and 4:30 pm The Masterclass as a support for the export of literature. Presentation of the joint project of FILI and the Finnish Cultural and Academic Institues.
