Grants for publishers outside Finland

Translation of Finnish, Finland-Swedish and Sámi fiction and non-fiction into other languages

The FILI translation grant programme promotes the translation and publication of literature from Finland abroad.

There are three application rounds per year: 1.1 – 1.2, 1.4 – 1.5, 1.10 – 1.11.

Applications are submitted via an online application form which can be accessed on the FILI website during the application round. The form is removed on the last day of each application round at 23.59 (Finnish time). No applications are accepted outside of the application rounds.

Grants will not be awarded retrospectively for translations that have already been published.

FILI’s grant programme is funded by the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture.

For publishers in the Nordic countries, please apply via Finnish fiction and nonfiction into Nordic languages.
