Christoph Scheike has started working as an intern at FILI. He is a master’s student of Nordic literary and cultural studies at the University of Cologne. Chris found his passion for the Finnish language while working as a volunteer in Helsinki before starting his studies.
“I am very interested in contemporary Finnish literature and I especially enjoy Finnish weird, which is why I wrote my Bachelor’s thesis on Johanna Sinisalo’s work. At FILI I am very excited to have the chance to learn more about the field of Finnish literature also from a translator’s perspective, as translating has interested me for a long time.”
