About February’s first book-deals

This week, Eesti raamat has acquired the Estonian rights to Satu Rämö’s last polar from Hildur series: Tinna (WSOY 2025) from Bonnier Rights Finland.

From the same literary agency, Sanna Sofia Vuori and Nadja Sarell’s first two volumes of MAI series (Mai’s Horribly Terrible Day, Tammi 2023 and Mai’s Horribly Achy Arm, Tammi 2024) have been sold in Serbia byKreativni Centar.

Rahva Raamat has obtained the Estonian rights to Mariia Niskavaara‘s Ester, The Butcher (Ester, teurastaja, Kosmos 2025) and Sissi Enestam‘s Simulation Theory (Simulaatioteoria, Tammi 2025), both books from Ahlbäck Agency.

Móra Könyvkiado Zrt has acquired the Hungarian rights to four of Tove Jansson’s Moomintroll’s stories: Comet in Moominland (Kometen kommer, Schildts & Söderströms, 1946), Finn Family Moomintroll (Trollkarlens hatt, 1948), The Memoirs of Moominpappa (Muminpappans memoarer, 1950) and Moominsummer Madness (Farlig midsummer, 1954) from Rights & Brands.

Sulakausi Publishing Llc has emptied the Georgian rights to Tove Jansson’s famously known Summer Book (Sommarboken, Förlaget 1972) from Rights and Brands.

Still about Tove Jansson’s work: Singel Uitgeverijen has obtained the Deutsch rights to both Fair Play (Rent spel, 1989) and The Summer Book (Sommarboken, Förlaget 1972) from Rights & Brands.

Iperborea srl has obtained the Italian rights to Lena Frölander-Ulf’s Rafsa Stonestep (Rafsa Stentramp, Förlaget M 2024) from Rights & Brands.

Also, Kirjastus Pegasus Oü has obtained the Estonian rights to Ari Turunen & Petri Laukka’s Bad Sea: The Stormy History of the Baltic Sea (Paha meri: Itämeren myrskyisä historia, Aula & Co 2024) from Rights & Brands.

Speaking of Estonia, Helios Kirjastus Oü has bought the Estonian rights to Katri Kirkkopelto’s Molli and the Spooktwins (Molli ja hölöttävät möröt, Lasten keskus 2025) from Rights & Brands.

Liels un Mazs has obtained the Latvian rights to Linda Bondestam’sMy Life at the Bottom (Mitt bottenliv, Förlaget M 2020) from the very same literary agency, Rights & Brands.

SmartBooks (from Poland) and Vellant (from Romania) have both obtained the Polish and Romanian rights to Jukka Laajarinne’s ADRIFT Or How Some Balloonists Got Lost Underground and Encountered Something Incredibly Strange (Tuuliajolla eli Kuinka pilvien kiertolaiset eksyivät ja kohtasivat siellä jotakin hyvin kummallista,Otava 2025) from Ahlbäck Agency. Also, SmartBooks has acquired the Polish rights to Maria Vilja’s Juuli, Big Brother and the Wild Slide (Juuli, isoveli ja hurja liuku, WSOY 2025), also from Ahlbäck Agency.
