Translation and Printing Grants Total €253,250 in the Final Round of the Year

FILI’s Advisory Board has decided on the translation and printing grants for the final application round of the year. An impressive total of 143 applications were received, including 43 for children’s and young adult literature. A total of €253,250 in funding was awarded to 133 projects. Over the course of the year, translation and printing grants totalling €499,550 were awarded to 260 projects.

In this application round, the following titles received support for the largest number of translations: Satu Rämö’s Hildur crime novels (8 translations), Pirkko Saisio’s Helsinki trilogy (6), Tove Jansson’s books (5), and Michaela von Kügelgen’s novel Sommar på Villa Hilda (4). The most funding was awarded for translations into German (19), Estonian (15), Italian (12), French (9), and English (8). In total, grants were awarded for translations into 30 different languages.
