Pantheon has bought the American English language rights to Kissani Jugoslavia by Pajtim Statovci from Salomonsson Agency.
Kalachuvadu Publications has bought the Tamil language rights to Hurskas kurjuus by F.E. Sillanpää from Otava Group Agency.
Varrak has bought the Estonian rights to Graniittimies by Sirpa Kähkönen from Otava Group Agency.
Alpina Publishers has bought the Russian rights to Kavereita nolla by Niina Junttila from Bonnier Rights Finland.
Zvaigzne has bought the Latvian rights to Mörkövahti by Tuutikki Tolonen from the Elina Ahlbäck Literary Agency.
Petergailis has bought the Latvian language rights to Maresi by Maria Turtschaninoff from the Elina Ahlbäck Literary Agency.
Corvina has bought the Hungarian rights to Letille by Jenni Petänen and Laura Mendel from Bonnier Rights Finland.
Contrary to previously announced, the application period for FILI’s annual Translators-in-Residence programme will begin in autumn 2016. We are unfortunately unable to get the residence at Suomenlinna next year, and we will not receive confirmation of a replacement residence until the beginning of the autumn.
According to our tentative schedule, the application period will begin in September 2016.
The residence will last for three weeks in March 2017. As in previous years, the new residence will be located in Helsinki.

FILI will take part in the annual London Book Fair (Olympia, West London). In the shared Nordic section there will be agents and foreign rights sellers from the Nordic countries in addition to our Nordic network, NordLit.

FILI will take part in the Bologna Children’s Book Fair from 4th-7th April. Our display shelf will be located in section 30 C 18.
At this year’s fair will end a course of Swedish to Italian translators organised by FILI and the Swedish Arts Council. Translators of Finland-Swedish literature also participate in this seminar.
The candidates for the Nordic Council’s Children and Young People’s Literature Prize will also be announced at the book fair.
