Kings, queens, cults and the ordinary made extraordinary

Literary Finland is cool in 2013!

From King Herod to the king of Finland who was never crowned and on to the shadows creeping over Europe in 1938 and Occupy Movement in 2010.

The New Finnish Weird genre encompasses books about oddly different worlds where people exist amid mythology, archaeology, cults and ordinary life.

From the long-lost Lapland of the 16th century to an exciting island off the Finnish coast to murder and friendship across borders.

And last but not least: personal narratives about Catherine the Great and Queen Victoria, two women who had appetites for love as well as power, along with weaknesses and a curiosity about the world.
