Annukka Salama’s thrilling romance book The Melting Point (Sulamispiste, WSOY 2025) has been sold to 3 language territories at once! Dutch rights go to Kluitman, French rights to Rageot Editeur and Swedish rights to Bokförlaget Opal.

Three books from the Animal Family series by Hannu Laakso have been sold to Estonia, as Rahva Raamat acquires Meet the Fox Family (Me kettuset, Into 2020), Meet the Bear Family (Me karhuset, Into 2021) and Meet the Wolf Family (Me hukkaset, Into 2022)

Two deals in a row! World English Rights for Sohvi Kangasluoma’s Then We Sailed North: Notes from the Arctic Seas (Sitten purjehdimme pohjoiseen: Merkintöjä arktisilta meriltä, Atena 2026) has been sold to Firefinch Publishing. And Hollandia has acquired the Dutch rights for the book.

Memento is bringing Tuomas Niskakangas’ trilogy Department K to Greece. The rights were bought in the phase of prepublication. The first book of the series The Sealed Case (Suljettu kansio, WSOY 2026) is being published in May.

After Greece, Germany has also made a pre-publication deal for Tuomas Niskakangas’ Department K series. Bastei Lübbe is publishing the first two books The Sealed Case (Suljettu kansio, WSOY 2026) and The Forgotten Name (appearing fall 2026).

Also in a pre-publication deal, Weissbooks Verlag (Germany) has bought Katja Kettu’s Brita-Kajsa (Brita-Kajsa, Otava 2026).

The Lithuanian publisher Terra Publica has acquired the rights to Max Seeck’s first book of the Milo series: Milo – checkmate (Merkitty, Tammi 2024).

The world rights (excluding Spain and Italy) of Jennifer De Paola’s The Happiness Puzzle (The Happiness Puzzle, 2026) has been sold to Bloomsbury Tonic.

Bloomsbury Tonic has also acquired the world rights to Dr. Jari Laukkanen’s HEAT – The New Science of Thermal Therapy and What It can Do for Your Health (appearing in 2027).

The Swedish Gyldendal Astra has acquired the rights to two books of Ulla Onerva’s Quirky Romantics trilogy: Cotton Candy Dilemma (Hattaradilemma, Tammi 2025) and Caramel Catastrophe (Karamellikatastrofi, Tammi 2026).

Annabella Daily’s The Secrets of Finnish Parenting (HarperOne, appearing in 2027) has caught the attention of three publishers: world English rights have been acquired by HarperOne, while Dutch and Brazilian rights have been sold to HarperCollins Holland and HarperCollins Brazil.

Hea Lugu has acquired the Estonian rights to Maija Kajanto’s Cardamom Christmas (Kardemummajoulu, WSOY 2024).

Ikar is continuing the publication of Satu Rämö’s Hildur series. Rakel (WSOY 2024) and Tinna (WSOY 2025) are coming soon in Slovakian!

Almayer has bought the Spanish rights of Juha Tuhkuri’s non-fiction book Icebound: The search for Endurance and the real reason it sank (Jään voima: Kertomus Endurancen uppoamisesta ja löytämisestä, Siltala 2024).

Polar has secured the Hungarian rights of Selja Ahava’s He Who Saw The Deep (Hän joka syvyydet näki, Gummerus 2025).

Another Hungarian publisher, Typotex has acquired the rights of Anni Kytömäki’s Mirabilis (Mirabilis, Gummerus 2024).

Helsinki Literary Agency has sold the rights of Leena Krohn’s modern classic Tainaron: Mail from Another City (Tainaron, Teos 2006 [1985]) to the Italian publishing company Zone 42.

Goga is publishing Iida Rauma’s Finlandia Prize-winner novel Destruction (Hävitys, Siltala 2021) in Slovenian.

Gads is bringing Nora Lehtinen’s and Mari Nikula’s children’s book Welcome to Grandma’s (Tervetuloa Mummolaan!, Orava 2025) to Denmark.

Mizuiro Books is publishing another children’s book in Japan: Radio Popov (Radio Popov, S&S 2020) written by Anja Portin.

Postimees has bought the Estonian rights to Jussi Niemeläinen’s Border to Border (Muurista muuriin, Siltala 2025).

Swedish rights of the Adel Sisters series by Ann-Christell Antell go to Gyldendal Astra! The popular series consists of three books: White Lily (Valkea Lilja, Gummerus 2025), Hidden Star (Kätketty tähti, Gummerus 2026) and Whild Bird (Villi lintu, Gummerus 2027).

The first three books of the beloved children’s book series A Dog Called Cat written by Tomi Kontio and illustrated by Elina Warsta has been sold to Denmark. Jensen & Dalgaard is publishing A Dog Called Cat (Koira nimeltään Kissa, Teos 2015), A Dog Called Cat Meets a Cat (Koira nimeltään Kissa tapaa kissan, Teos 2019) and A Dog Called Cat Looking for a Home (Koira nimeltään Kissa kaipaa kotia, Teos 2020). Moreover, Epix has secured the Swedish rights to the 3rd and 4th books of the series: A Dog Called Cat Looking for a Home and A Dog Called Cat and the Wonder of Christmas (Koira nimeltään Kissa ja joulun ihme, Teos 2021).

Another deal for Epix: Eppu Nuotio’s and Sanna Pelliccioni’s children’s book Sent Across the Sea (Lappukaulatyttö, S&S 2022) is being published in Sweden.

The Italian publisher Emons has secured the rights to the children’s book The Smuggler’s Treasure (Smugglarens skatt, S&S 2024) written by Axel Åhman and illustrated by Ola Skogäng.

Rights & Brands

The Norwegian Cappelen Damm has bought the rights to three books associated with Tove Jansson’s work: The Listener (Lyssnerskan, WSOY 2012) and Messages: A Selection of Short Stories (Meddelande, WSOY 2008) written by Jansson; Alice in Wonderland (Alice i underlandet, Bonnier Carlsen 2015) illustrated by Jansson and originally written by Lewis Carroll.

Argo Publishing has also bought the Czech rights to Tove Jansson’s illustrations in Alice in Wonderland (written by Lewis Carroll).

The Swedish Printz Publishing/ Norstedts Förlagsgrupp has acquired the world rights to the famous Cold Sea series of Ulla Rask: Blanka, Daughter of the Baltic Sea (Blanka, Itämeren tytär, WSOY 2025), In the Shadows of the Seven Spire (Seitsemän tornin varjoissa, WSOY 2026) and Towards the Pole Star (Kohti Pohjantähteä (appearing in 2027).

Latvian rights of Katri Kirkkopelto’s children’s book Molly’s Christmas (Mollin joulu, Lasten Keskus 2022) was sold to Izdevniecība Helios.
