An amazing start for this new year!

Last weeks from the 1st to the 23rd of January, many foreign rights to Finnish and Finland-Swedish books have been obtained, including worldwide known Tove Jansson’s children’s books!

Piotr Krynicki has acquired the Polish rights to Tove Jansson’s The Moomins and the Great Flood (Småtrollen och den stora översvämningen, 1945) from Rights & Brands.

Karjalan Sivistysseura has obtained the Finnish rights to Tove Jansson’s The Moomins and the Great Flood (Småtrollen och den stora översvämningen, 1945), Comet in Moominland (Kometjakten/Kometen kommer, Schildts & Söderströms 1946), Finn Family Moomin troll (Trollkarlens hatt, 1948), The Memoirs of Moominpappa (Muminpappans bravader/ Mumminpappans memoarer, 1950), Moominsummer Madness (Farlig midsommar, 1954), Moominland Midwinter (Trollvinter, 1957), Moominpappa at Sea (Pappan och havet, 1965), and Moominvalley in November (Sent in november, 1970) from Rights & Brands.

Jigeumichaek has bought the Korean rights to The Art of the Sea: 23 Knitwear Designs Inspired by the Moomins (The Art of the Sea/Meren taju, Laine Publishing 2025) from Rights & Brands.

Also, Laguna has obtained the Serbian rights to Satu Rämö’s Hildur (WSOY 2022) from Bonnier Rights Finland.

Publisher Sinisukk has obtained the Ukrainian rights to Elina Grundström’sUkraine’s Black Gold (Ukrainan musta multa, WSOY 2023) from Bonnier Rights Finland. Rahva Raamat has acquired the Estonian rights to Arttu Tuominen’s Crystal Trilogy (Alec, 2025 and two upcoming volumes from Otava Publishers, Hydra,2026 and Crystal,2027) from Ahlback Literary Agency
